Day 01 : Jammu Katra by road (50 km) Vaishno
Devi by trek (13 km x 2)
Meet on arrival at Jammu airport/railway station, and transfer to Katra. On
arrival at Katra, check into the hotel. After freshening up proceed to
Vaishno Devi temple either by trek/pony or helicopter. After darshan return
to the hotel at Katra. Overnight stay at Katra.
Katra is the base camp from where the Vaishno Devi darshan starts. The
nearest airport and railway head is at Jammu, at a distance of 50 Kms.
The Vaishno Devi Shrine is an uphill climb of approximately 13 km. from
Katra. The journey is either on foot or by pony and takes approximately
10-12 hrs. There is also a helicopter service from Katra to the Sanjichat
(Helipad) and then a 2.5 km. trek to the shrine.
Day 02 : Katra Jammu Dalhousie by road (250
Kms/7 Hrs)
Morning, leave for Dalhouise. On arrival at Dalhousie, check into the
hotel. Rest of the day is free for leisure activities. Overnight stay at
Dalhousie.
Dalhousie
Dalhousie is named after the British governor General, Lord Dalhousie. It
is surrounded by snow-capped peaks and well forested hills consisting of
pines, deodars, oaks and flowering rhododendrons. Dalhousie still retains
much of the style of the British Raj.
Day 03 : Dalhousie Khajjiar Dalhousie by road

Morning,
an excursion to Khajjiar. Overnight stay at Dalhousie.
Khajjiar
Khajjiar sits on a small plateau with a small stream-fed lake in the middle
that is covered with weeds. The hill station is surrounded by green meadows
and dense forests. Khajjiar is often called the Mini Switzerland of India.
Day 04 : Dalhousie Dharamshala by road (170 Kms/4
hrs )
Morning, depart to Dharamshala. On arrival at Dharamshala, check into the
resort. Rest of the day is free for leisure activities. Overnight stay at
Dharamshala.
Dharamsala
Dharamsala, this hill station has dense forest of oak and conifer trees and
is surrounded by snow capped mountains. Dharamsala is a hill station split
into two, the lower part, known as Dharamsala and the upper part, known as
McLeodganj. The headquarters of His Holiness the Dalai Lama is at
McLeodganj.
Day 05 : Dharamshala
Morning, a half day sightseeing of Dharmshala, visiting McLeodganj and the
Kangra Art Museum. Overnight stay at Dharamshala.
The main attractions are the Kangra Art Museum, which displays arts, crafts
and artifacts that date back to the 5th century, St. John's Church, a
charming church where a memorial has been erected for the British Viceroy,
Lord Elgin who died at Dharamsala in 1863. Also numerous ancient temples
like Jwalamukhi, Brijeshwari and Chamunda lie on the plains below.
Day 06 : Dharamshala Amritsar (210 Kms/6 Hrs)
Early Morning leave for Amritsar. Afternoon arrive at Amritsar and check in
at Hotel. Later, a tour of Amritsar which includes a visit to the Golden
Temple, Jallianwala Bagh and Wagah Border. Late evening return to the hotel.
Overnight stay at Amritsar.
Amritsar
Amritsar, the 400 years old city, founded by the fourth guru of the Sikhs,
Guru Ramdas, has been the seat of the Sikh religion and culture from its
very inception. It is home to the Golden Temple, the most sacred shrine of
Sikhism. Amritsar, literally, a 'Pool of Nectar,' derives its name from the
holy pond around the temple.
Golden Temple of Harimander Sahib

Golden
Temple of Harimander Sahib is the most famous Sikh Temple or Gurdwara. It is
called the Golden Temple because of the gold plating that covers most of its
surface. It is the most sacred and the most visited of the many Sikhs
shrines. The temple situated in the water tank, its spiritual surroundings
and melodious music have been a source of inspiration to the devotees
visiting this shrine.
Jallianwala Bagh is a historical landmark
located in the heart of the city. People visit this place in the memory of
the people who died in an open firing by General Dyer on April 13, 1919.
There is a deep well in the park where many innocent people jumped in while
running from the bullets.
Wagah Border is located at a distance of
28 kilometers from Amritsar. At sunset, when the retreat ceremony takes
place, both sides i.e. the Border Security Force on the Indian side and the
Pakistani Rangers on the Pakistan side put up a well coordinated and
spectacular display..
Day 07 : Amritsar Delhi by train/flight
Early morning check out of hotel and transfer to the railway station to
board train to Delhi. Meet on arrival at Delhi and transfer to Hotel. Rest
of the day is free for leisure activities. Overnight stay at Delhi.
Delhi
Delhi, the city actually consists of two parts. Delhi or Old Delhi was
the capital of ancient India between the 12th and 17th centuries. Old Delhi
boasts of many mosques, monuments and forts that provide glimpses of the
grandeur and glory of the Moghul India. The other part of Delhi is New
Delhi, the Imperial city, created as the capital of India by the British.
It is a spacious city marked by tree-lined avenues. Many embassies and
government buildings are situated here. The monuments of the city represent
rich architectural diversity.
Day 08 : Delhi
Morning, a full day sightseeing of Delhi visiting Red Fort, built in 1648
by Mughal Emperor Shahjehan, Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in
India, Raj Ghat and Shantivana-the cremation sites of Mahatma Gandhi and
Jawaharlal Nehru. Also drive past Chandni Chowk, the shopping centre of Old
Delhi. Afternoon, half day sightseeing tour of New Delhi visiting Qutub
Minar built in 1199, Humayun's Tomb, India Gate, Lakshminarayan Temple. Also
drive past President's House, Parliament House, Government Secretariat
Buildings and Connaught Place, the shopping centre of New Delhi.
Overnight stay at Delhi.
Day 09 : Delhi
