Day 01 : Coimbatore Kodaikanal by road (160
km)
Meet and assist on arrival at Coimbatore and proceed to Kodaikanal. Enroute
see the Silver Cascade waterfall. Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight
stay at Kodaikanal
Kodaikanal is located amidst the folds of the verdant
Palni hills is one of the most popular serene hill stations in India, which
mesmerizes any visitor, with her wooded slopes, mighty rocks, enhancing
waterfalls and a beautiful lake. Kodai is situated at an altitude of about
2,133-m high. The pride of Kodaikanal is the 'Koradji-flower', which
blossoms once in 12 years. Here fruits like pears and plums are known for
their freshness and taste.
Day 05 : Ooty
Morning a half day excursion to Coonoor to visit the Tea Factory &
option to enjoy a joy ride on the mountain train and return to Ooty.
Coonoor is 17kms from Udhagamandalam, is not very
commercialized and retains a certain amount of untouched charm. It is a
small town with an equable climate that has made it popular as a hill resort
in its own right. The main attractions are its view points and the Sim's
Park, a small well maintained botanical garden that has several varieties of
plants not to be found in other parts.
Nilgiri Heritage Mountain Railway The Nilgiris toy
train connects Ooty to Mettupalayam, at the foot of the Nilgiris.The
charming Nilgiri Hill Railway, blue and cream with wooden coaches and large
windows. It was in 1899 that the first train chugged up this track. It is
hauled up hills by stream engines. The train covers the 46 km in four and a
half hours.
Day 07 : Mysore Bangalore by road (140kms)
Morning a half day tour of Mysore visiting the Sir Jayachamarajendra Art
Gallery, St. Philomena's Church and depart for Bangalore enrooted visit
Srirangapatna. Evening leisure. Overnight stay at Bangalore
Srirangapatnam This island fortress of the legendary warrior Tippu
Sultan is 16 km from Mysore city. Inside the fortress is Tipu's mosque with
its twin minarets, the celebrated Ranganatha Swamy temple, the Wellesley
Bridge and the dungeons where British officers were once imprisoned.Equally
impressive is the ornate white domed Gumbaz. The Daria Daulat, the summer
palace of Tipu Sultan now converted into a museum is worth visiting.
Bangalore was founded in 1537 by a local chieftain Kempe
Gowda; this bustling city has a perpetual holiday atmosphere thanks to its
weather. It is also known as the garden city and Silicon Valley of India.
Vidhan Soudha is a magnificent building housing the
State Legislature and Secretariat. It is built entirely of Granite in
Neo-Dravidian style
Lalbagh has a variety of Old trees, fountains, Lotus
Pools, Terraces and assortment of Tropical Herbs and Sub Tropical Herbs.
Bull Temple is dedicated to Nandi Bull, the vahana
(vehicle) of Lord Shiva. The temple has been built in the Dravidian style of
architecture. Inside the temple, there is huge idol of Nandi Bull measuring
4.5 m in height and 6.5 m in length.
