Day 01 : Cochin
Meet on arrival at Cochin and transfer to the hotel. After freshening up a
city tour of Cochin which includes the Jew Synagogue, Dutch Palace,
St.Francis Church, Chinese fishing net etc. Overnight stay at Cochin.
Cochin
(Kochi) is the commercial capital and most cosmopolitan city of Kerala.
It has one of the finest natural harbours of the world; this was once a
major center of commerce and trade with British, Arabs, Chinese, Portuguese,
and Dutch etc.
Day 02 : Cochin - Munnar by road (130 kms)
Morning drive to Munnar and the rest of the day is free to explore the town
of Munnar.Overnight stay at Munnar
Munnar is situated at the confluence of three mountain
streams - Mudra Puzha, Nalla Thanni & Kundala; this hill station was the
summer resort of British Government in South India. Sprawling tea
plantations, picture-book towns, winding lanes and holiday facility make
this popular hill station. Munnar has also has the highest peak of South
India called Anamudi which towers over 2695 mtrs. It is ideal spot for
trekking.
Day 03 : Munnar
Morning after breakfast you will be taken for a sightseeing of Munnar,
which includes Rajamalai, Matuppetty, Kundala Dam. Rest of the day is at
leisure. Overnight stay at Munnar
Day 04 : Munnar - Thekkady by road (110 kms)
Morning drive to Thekkady. Evening boat a ride on Lake Periyar to watch
animals in their natural habitat. Overnight stay at Thekkady
Periyar also called Thekkady is South India's most
popular wildlife sanctuary spread across 777sq.km. It was set up in 1934 and
forms part of the Western Ghats. Periyar is the center of spice plantations
such as Cardamom, Cloves & Pepper apart from Coffee and Tea. Periyar
with cool climate, spice-perfumed air and endless trekking options is truly
an exhilarating experience. In the midst of the forest, there is the Lake
Periyar. Cruising on Lake Periyar, you are likely to see animals like wild
boars, sambars, wild dogs, langur monkeys and wild elephants.
Day 05 : Thekkady - Kumarakom by road (145 kms)
Early morning, options to go once again for a boat cruise on the Lake
Periyar and then depart to Kumarakom. Enroute we can visit a spice
plantation. On arrival at Kumarakom, for the rest of the day there is an
option to relax and enjoy the tranquility of the place or use the spa
facilities at the resort. Overnight stay at Kumarakom.
Kumarakom is a village in Kerala blessed with natures
rare gifts is on the eastern side of the vast Vembanad Lake. Kumarakom
provides boating, fishing and sightseeing experiences. An exclusive
attraction of this much sought after backwater region is the Kumarakom bird
sanctuary
Day 06 : Kumarakom - Alleppey by road (50 kms)
Early morning an option to visit the bird sanctuary. Mid morning, you will
be transferred to Alleppey to check into the House Boat. Overnight on board
the houseboat.
Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary is an ornithologist's paradise
and favourite haunt of migratory birds like the Siberian Stork, egret,
darter, heron and teal. A cruise along the Vambanad Lake is the best way to
view the bird life.
Alleppey is referred to as the Venice of the East by
travelers from across the world. This backwater country is also home to
diverse animal and bird life. Alleppey is also famous for its boat races,
houseboat holidays, beaches, marine products and coir industry.
A cruise along the palm-fringed waterways of Kerala in a houseboat is one of
the most enchanting holiday experiences in India today. While cruising, you
can observe the rural life of the villages on the banks of the canals.

Day 07 : Alleppey - Kovalam by road (176 kms)
Morning disembark from Houseboat and proceed to Kovalam via Trivandrum.
Evening leisure at Kovalam. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay at Kovalam
Kovalam (16 Kms from Trivandrum city) this international
beach has been the favourite haunt of tourists since 1930's. This most
renowned beach destination is much sought after for sunbathing, water
sports, shopping, catamaran cruising, yoga, meditation and rejuvenative
Ayurvedic body toning massages.
Day 08 : Kovalam
Morning a half day city tour of Trivandrum city to visit the Sree
Padmanabhaswami Temple, Napier Museum, Chitralayam Arts Gallery. (Both
closed on Mondays/ Wednesday mornings. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay at
Kovalam
Day 09 : Kovalam - Trivandrum
In time transfer to Trivandrum Airport/Railway station to connect
flight/train for onward destination.
