Day 01 : Aurangabad
Meet on arrival at Aurangabad airport/railway station and transfer to the
hotel. A leisurely afternoon. Later a short tour of Aurangabad city visiting
Bibi - ka - Maqbara
Aurangabad is the gateway to visit the famous ancient
caves of Ajanta and Ellora
Bibi ka Maqbara built by Azam Shah in 1678 is a son's
loving tribute to his mother, Begum Rabia Durrani, the Queen of Mughal
emperor Aurangzeb. Standing spectacularly on the lawns of the landscaped
garden with ponds, fountains and water channels, the white marbled monument
rises majestically in an intentional bid to copy and rival the world famous
Taj Mahal of Agra. The central tomb, distinguished by elaborate surface
ornamentation and intricately perforated marble screens, is framed by four

Day 02 : Aurangabad
- Daulatabad Fort - Ellora Caves Aurangabad by road (50kmx 2)
Early morning departure for a full day excursion to Ellora Caves enroute
visiting Daulatabad Fort and return to Aurangabad.
Ellora Cavesare located 26 km north of Aurangabad. There
are 34 cave temples in all - 12 Mahayana Buddhist caves (550-750 AD), 17
Hindu caves (600-875 AD) and five caves of the Jain faith (800-1000 AD).The
most imposing excavation is that of the magnificent Kailasa Temple, which is
a monolithic structure. Ellora has been designated as a World Heritage Site.
Devagiri Daulatabad Fort is famous for its formidable
hill fort. The fort is situated on an isolated cone-shaped hill rising
abruptly from the plains to the height of about 190 metres. The
fortification constitutes of three concentric lines of defensive walls with
large number of bastions. The noteworthy features of the fort are the moat,
the scarp and the sub-terranean passage, all hewn of solid rock. The upper
outlet of the passage was filled with an iron grating, on which a large fire
could be lit to prevent the progress of the enemy. The Chand Minar, the
Chini Mahal and the Baradari are important structures within the fort.

Day 03 : Aurangabad
- Ajanta Caves Aurangabad by road (110 km x 2)
Early morning departure for a full day excursion of Ajanta Caves
Ajanta Caves are located about 99 kms from Aurangabad,
in a mammoth horseshoe-shaped rock, There are 30 caves overlooking the
gorge, each forming a room on the hill and some with inner rooms. All these
have been carved out of solid rock with nothing but a hammer and chisel.
Here, for the Buddhist monks, the artisans excavated Chaityas (chapels) for
prayer and Viharas (monasteries), where they lived and taught. Many of the
caves have the most exquisite detailed carvings on the walls, pillars and
entrances as well as magnificent wall paintings. It is a protected monument
under the Archaeological Survey of India and has been designated as a World
Heritage Site. The 30 caves of Ajanta were created over a span of some 600
years and are a source of all kinds of information... hair styles,
ornaments, textiles, musical instruments, details of architecture, customs
etc.

Day 01 : Mumbai
Reception on arrival at the Mumbai airport/railway station and transfer to
the hotel. Rest of the day is free. Evening option to visit the Juhu Beach.
Mumbai is the business capital of India. Mumbai has
transformed itself into an entity with thriving markets, business houses and
many different communities reflecting a cosmopolitan and trendy atmosphere
rarely seen elsewhere. It is a shopper's delight with exclusive boutiques,
ethnic markets and mini bazaars.
Juhu Beach is a great favorite with Mumbaites; It is a
wonderful place to bring kids, as it doubles up as an amusement park and
playground, with innumerable food counters

Day 02 : Mumbai
Morning proceed for a full day sightseeing of Mumbai. A visit to the
Crawford Market, Victoria Terminus ( VT) and other historic buildings of the
area, Gateway of India, Elephanta Caves and the Marine drive.
Crawford Market A busy fruit and vegetable market area, is best
visited early in the morning. Victoria Terminus presently known as
the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus is a magnificent building and is considered
to be architecturally one of the finest stations in the world. Built by the
British in 1888, it has exquisite ornamentation on its facade along with
beautifully executed panels and friezes. It holds the statue of Queen
Victoria on its dome. Other noteworthy Gothic/Victorian Buildings in the
Fort Area are the University of Mumbai building including the imposing
Rajabhai Tower, the Mumbai High Court, the Old Secretariat, and the
Institute of Science on one end. Close by are situated St Thomas Cathedral,
the Asiatic Society of Bombay or Town Hall, the Office of the Director
General of Police, the General Post Office and the Thomas Cook building.
Elephanta Caves are located across the Mumbai Harbor. The
seventh-century rock-cut temples of Elephanta are now declared as a World
Heritage Site and visited by hundreds of tourists for their artistic,
historical and scenic value. Gateway of India Mumbai's most striking
monument, was designed by George Wittet. It has an imposing gateway arch in
the Indo-Saracenic style with Gujarati and Islamic elements such as wooden
carvings. It was built to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen
Mary to India in 1911. Marine Drive is the stretch with Nariman
Point on one end to Babulnath, at the foot of Walkeshwar on the other. It is
also referred to as the Queen's Necklace because of the dramatic line of
street lamps lit up at night. Midway on this road is the Taraporewala
Aquarium. Further up the road is the upmarket residential Malabar Hill area
offering with some spectacular views of the city surroundings. On the road
climbing up, is a Jain temple dedicated to Adinath, the first Jain
tirthankara. On top are the Hanging Gardens and the Kamala Nehru Park.
Towards the other end is the Banganga temple complex, and the Raj Bhavan
built by the British, the residence of the governor of Maharashtra.
