Day 01 : Arrive Delhi
Welcome on arrival and assistance at the airport. Move to hotel. Rest of
the day is free.
Delhi, the city actually consists of two parts. Delhi or
`Old Delhi' was the capital of Muslim India between the 12th and 13th
centuries. In Old Delhi you will find many mosques, monuments and forts
relating to India's Muslim history. The other part of Delhi is `New Delhi',
the Imperial city created as the capital of India by the British. It is a
spacious, open city and contains many embassies and Government buildings.

Day 02 : Delhi
Morning, a city tour of old Delhi which include the magnificent Red Fort,
Jama Masjid, largest mosque in Asia, Rajghat- a memorial to Mahatma Gandhi.
Afternoon, a tour of New Delhi to include Humanyun Tomb, Qutab Minar, India
Gate, Birla Mandir, Bahai Temple.

Day 03 : Delhi Lucknow (Flight)
Balrampur (297 Kms/06-07 Hrs Drive)
Morning, drop to airport to board flight to Lucknow. Welcome and assistance
at Lucknow airport and drive to Balrampur. Enroute visit Sravasti. Arrive
Balrampur and check in at the hotel.
Sravasti is the place where Buddha performed miracles to
confound his critics and is said to have spent 25 rainy seasons preaching
here.

Day 04 : Balrampur
Lumbini Kushinagar
After breakfast, excursion to Lumbini, the place where Buddha was born.
Continue drive to Kushinagar - the place where Buddha passed into
Parinirvana.
Lumbini It was in Lumbini that Queen Mahamaya gave birth
to Prince Siddhartha Gautama, who later became Lord Buddha. Lumbini lies in
the Himalayan kingdom of Nepal. It is the place where the Maya Mayadevi
Temple and the sacred tank exist. It is here where Prince Siddhartha was
given his first purification bath.
Kushinagar is where Lord Buddha finally attained
Mahaparinirvana. The Natha Kumarka Kot temple here enshrines a beautiful
statue of a reclining Buddha.

Day 05 : Kushinagar
Patna
Morning visit Ramabha Stupa where the body of the Lord was cremated, Natha
Kumarka Kot and drive to the city of Patna. Enroute visit Vaishali, where
Lord Buddha preached his last sermon. On Arrival at Patna, check into the
hotel.
Vaishali It was here that Lord Buddha announced the
approaching of his Mahaparinirvana. During one of his visits here,Buddha was
offered a bowl of honey by a monkey.
Patna Ancient Pataliputra, is a major entry point for
pilgrims going on a Buddhist pilgrimage.

Day 06 : Patna
Bodhgaya
Morning, leave for Bodhgaya. Enroute visit Rajgir and Nalanda. Arrive at
Bodhgaya and check into the hotel.
Rajgir surrounded by five holy hills is important for
Buddhists as well as Jains.Here the two rock-cut caves were the favourite
retreats of the Buddha and it was on this hill that he preached two of his
most famous sermons.
Nalanda is one of the worlds oldest living
cities.The Buddhist University of Nalanda,once the prestigious centre of
learning in Asia,was built here.The ruins of its monasteries and temples
still convey a vivid impression of the serene and ordered life of
contemplationand learning that prevailed here.
Bodhgaya is one of the holiest cities of the Buddhist
faith.It was here under a Bodhi tree that Prince Siddhartha attained
salvation and became Buddha,the enlightened one.The Mahabodhi Temple complex
is now a World Heritage Site.

Day 07 : Bodhgaya
Full day at Bodhgaya.
Mahabodhi Temple has been restored and rebuilt over the
centuries. Set in a vast garden,this pyramidal sandstone structure soars to
a height of 54 meters and is visible for miles around.The walls are carved
with various aspects of Buddhism.The sanctum sanctorum has a colossal golden
Buddha.

Day 08 : Bodhgaya
to Varanasi (243 Kms/06-07 Hrs)
Morning, depart to Varanasi. On Arrival at Varanasi, check into the hotel.
Rest of the day is free. Later an option to go by cycle rickshaw to the
ghats to see the evening aarthi.
Varanasi is known by three name i.e Kashi (the city of
light),Benaras and now as Varanasi.It is the oldest living city in the world
and is situated on the west bank of the Ganges River. In ancient times, it
was a great centre of knowledge and learning. For the devout Hindu the city
has a special place besides being a pilgrimage centre, it is considered
especially auspicious to die here, ensuring an instant route to heaven.
"Ghats", lining the west bank of the Ganges
for more than 6 kms is lined with temples. They reverberate with endless
chants of Hindu religious prayers. People throng these Ghats to offer their
morning prayers to the rising sun.
The evening Ganga aarthi on the banks of the river Ganges
with lighted lamps is a mesmerizing sight..

Day 09 : Varanasi
Sarnath Varanasi
Early morning ( 4.00 am) proceed for a boat ride on the sacred river Ganges
to see the sunrise and the cremation ghats to witness the living tradition
of one of the world's oldest religions.
Morning proceed to visit Sarnath, where Buddha preached his first sermon.In
the evening stroll along the narrow lanes and bazaars of Varanasi.
Sarnath (13 kms from Varanasi) is the place where the
Buddha preached his first sermon after his reunion with his five disciples.
In Sarnath stands the Dhamek Stupa,built on the spot where the first sermon
was preached to his disciples.
